Wow, my 1st blog EVER.
Well I wanted to share some of my stories about my new home, some good, some sad, some just down right irritating. Over a year ago me and my husband and daughter moved into a brand new custom built home, yes, a dream come true for all of us. This meant we had reached a very signification milestone in our lives. All the while during constuction, I gained many things, I gained knowledge about windows, shimming, roofing 3-tab vs. single tab, oh and the list goes on, I have such a wider base of knowledge now, I think I could have an intelligent conversation with a contractor now. Not only did I gain construction knowledge, I gained 50 pounds during the 9 months of construction, I think being pregnant might have been easier... :-)
My biggest challenge of moving into the new house was my husbands continual comments of "oh I cannot wait to see how wonderful my wife decorates the house", talk about dumping a load of bricks on me, the pressure was on. Did he think I had some wonderful power about me, something he saw in me that I had NO CLUE, as I was totally CLUELESS where to start in this house. So what did I do, NOTHIING, thats right I really showed him! So for the past year the house is beautiful but not living up to its full potential and that is why I started this blog. To share my stories of how I'm going to create a house into our families HOME. (so the 1st things that have to change around here are getting rid of the white walls)... I have been painting for 3 weeks now, yes, when I say "I" its just me painting....... maybe its best that way, being the perfectionist that I am, I wont have to worry about somebody not doing it right. anyways, I now have most of the living area walls Sherwin Williams Kilim Beige, with accents of SW Latte and and ceiling of Swiss Coffee. Swiss Coffee just sounds YUMMY.... So these paint colors were not easy in the picking.... Someone asked me the other day "how long did it take you to pick a paint-color", hum, that answer is down right scarey, the answer, a year and a half ....... and many cheeseburgers in between. Honestly I have close to 50 paint samples in a cabinet. I found Kilim Beige by some wonderful act of God.... So this in of itself should set the stage, 18 months to pick a paint color.......OMG.......wait it's really like ........OMFG......
